The Verkhovna Rada, Parliament of Ukraine, ratified a framework agreement with Turkey on cooperation in the construction of housing for Crimean Tatars and other IDPs (internally displaced persons).
Some 333 lawmakers voted for the Law "On Ratification of the Framework Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on cooperation in the field of housing construction for representatives of the Crimean Tatar and privileged categories of citizens of Ukraine."
As reported, the agreement envisaged that the Turkish Party will provide non-refundable assistance through the construction of 500 apartments for the Crimean Tatar people and privileged categories of Ukrainian citizens: 200 apartments in Mykolayiv, 200 apartments in Kherson, and 100 apartments in Kyiv.
Also, goods, equipment, and mechanisms, as well as construction machinery (including temporarily imported) necessary for the performance of construction works are exempt from taxes, customs duties, and any other mandatory payments, levied on the territory of Ukraine in accordance with the national legislation of Ukraine.
