Ukraine has sent emergency help to Turkey amidst the increasing forest fires in the southern districts of the county, suspected to caused by terrorist group PKK.
Ukraine has sent emergency aid to Turkey amid forest fires burning for almost a week, suspected to be caused by the terrorist organization PKK in the southern regions of the country.
Aerial firefighting crews with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine made 18 flights in the past day, dropping a total of 144 tonnes of water over the areas in Turkey affected by wildfires, the press office of the State Emergency Service reports.
"On August 1, the SES aircraft (two AN-32Ps) fought fire in the province of Antalya in the Republic of Turkey, making 18 water discharges (144 tonnes)," the statement reads.
The Emergency Service also said that a total of 34 discharges (272 tonnes) had been carried out since they engaged in the operation.
