Ukraine is planning to build two new airports in the controlled parts of Donbas, Eastern Ukraine.

The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Olexander Kubrakov has announced this on the air of the public channel Dom.

Noting that the exact construction sites would be approved next week, the minister said that one of the airports is planned to be built between Mariupol and Berdyansk.

"This is about 30 km from Mariupol and 20 km from Berdyansk. We are now coordinating the point with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we had the last meeting this week," Kubrakov said.

According to him, the second airport is planned to be built in the area of ​​the cities of Slovyansk and Kramatorsk. The city of Svyatohorsk is being considered as an option.
