Ukraine will establish a factory to produce Turkish military drones, the land of the factory has already been chosen.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said this at a news conference on Thursday with Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv.
“A land plot on which the factory will be built has already been chosen,” the Ukrainian diplomat said.
The parties discussed the development of military-technical cooperation, in particular the production of Bayraktar drones in Ukraine.
"As for the construction of Bayraktar drones in Ukraine, I believe that this project has already been implemented in Ukraine, because it enjoys the political patronage of both presidents. There were a number of obstacles to its implementation, but they have all been removed," Kuleba said.
In turn, the Turkish Foreign Minister stressed that Kyiv and Ankara were “in the process of strengthening their relations in many sectors”, including defence.
"Turkey is interested in the capabilities of the Ukrainian Antonov Design Bureau. The efficiency of our aircraft was clearly demonstrated during the recent fires in Turkey. We discussed the issues of energy security, in particular in the context of gas," Kuleba said.
Praising the relations between the two countries, Çavuşoğlu thanked the Government of Ukraine for putting out fires in Antalya and neighbouring provinces. "We will never forget this show of solidarity," he said.
