Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba calls the United Nation's disregarding of the International Crimea Platform "inadmissible," accusing the organization of having misunderstood its global role.

He said that Ukraine would be talking to the UN leadership about the latter ignoring the Crimea Platform inaugural summit held on August 23.

"This happened absolutely for political reasons, and we will talk with the leadership of the organization about the inadmissibility of such an attitude, since the key task of the UN is precisely to support peace and security," Kuleba said at an online briefing on Thursday.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister said the UN should defend the principles, not the interests of individual states that violate international law.

“It tells us of the current state of affairs in the organization, as well as of the understanding of their global role and mission. I can openly, diplomatically say that this is a misunderstanding we will address because we need to protect the principles, not interests of individual states violating international law," said the head of Ukrainian diplomacy.
