President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in the United States for a planned official visit. In the framework of the trip, the President and the first lady Olena Zelenska are expected to stay in Washington for two days, until August 1, and then travel to California.
The Ukrainian President plans to meet with the President of the United States Joe Biden to discuss a number of issues including defense, security, and the Russian natural gas pipeline Nord Stream 2, constructed bypassing Ukraine.
After his official contacts in Washington, Zelensky will meet with businesspersons, in particular, representatives of the IT (information technologies) industry.
As reported, it was previously announced that two leaders would also discuss the release of Ukrainian political prisoners held captive by Russia.
