Since February 24, more than 19,000 Ukrainian children have been deported to Russia and Belarus or forcibly relocated to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, in particular to Crimea.
These are the data that Daria Herasymchuk, the representative of the President of Ukraine on children's rights, managed to collect.
According to the information of the European Parliament, the number of illegally deported Ukrainian children to Russia may reach from 16 to 300 thousand. After all, Russia started this process back in 2014 - from the time of the occupation of Crimea and parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
According to the Russians themselves, about 5 million Ukrainians have arrived on Russian territory since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, of which 730,000 are minors.
Russia deprives Ukrainian children of the right to preserve their identity, use their native language, culture and other rights defined by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
