64% of respondents believe that Ukraine should liberate its territory from Russian invaders, including Crimea.
This is stated in the surveyof the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), conducted from February 22 to March 6.
"The majority of respondents (64%) believe that Ukraine should try to liberate the entire territory, including Crimea, even if there is a risk of a decrease in support from the West and a risk of a long war. In contrast, 24% are more inclined to the option that in exchange for the liberation and protection of all territories with Donbas (but not Crimea), Ukraine can refrain from military actions in Crimea," according to the report.
KIIS added that the vast majority in all regions insist on the liberation of all territories, including Crimea. Support for the "compromise" is no more than 27%, depending on the region.
It is noted that the survey was conducted by the method of telephone interviews with the use of a computer-based on a random sample of mobile phones. 2,007 respondents living in all regions of Ukraine (except the Autonomous Republic of Crimea) were surveyed. The survey was conducted with adults (aged 18 and older) citizens of Ukraine who lived on the territory of Ukraine at the time of the survey (within the boundaries controlled by the authorities of Ukraine until February 24, 2022).
The sample did not include residents of territories that were not temporarily controlled by the authorities of Ukraine until February 24, 2022 (AR Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions), and the survey was not conducted with citizens who went abroad after February 24, 2022 year
