There are no people of the Kherson region or Zaporizhzhia region, there are people of Ukraine. This was emphasized by the Representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea Tamila Tasheva on her Facebook page, commenting on the decree of the President of the russian federation vladimir putin on the recognition of the "independence" of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine. There, the head of the Kremlin allegedly refers to the "will of the people of these regions" in the pseudo-referendum.

"Can anyone explain this... There are no people of the Kherson region or the Zaporizhzhia region. There are people of Ukraine. As well as there are no "people of Crimea" who are "self-determined",” Tasheva wrote.

She explained that there was one ethnic community in Crimea that could self-determine in accordance with international law – and these are the Crimean Tatars, the indigenous people of Ukraine. But the Crimean Tatars never talked about secession from Ukraine, but about self-determination within the state borders of Ukraine.

"But don’t worry, we will one day "liberate" and "self-determine" the "people of Moscow", "the people of the Republic of Chechnia", "the people of the Republic of Dagestan", "the people of the Republic of Sakha", "the people of the Republic of Tatarstan". Maybe we will even recognize the independence of these republics, according to the generally accepted principles and norms of international law, recognizing and confirming the principle of equality and self-determination of peoples, enshrined in the United Nations Charter," Tasheva stressed.
