During the presentation of her album Qırım in Liverpool, the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar singer Jamala mentioned the Crimean political prisoners. Among them is 25-year-old Leniie Umerova, who has been illegally detained by the Russians for almost six months.

This was announced by her brother Aziz Umerov on his Facebook account.

"We thank our friends Jamala and Seyt-Bekir Suleymanov [Jamala's husband - ed.] for their support and mention of Leniie, as well as hundreds of other Crimean Tatar prisoners of the occupying country, during the world presentation of the Qırım album in Liverpool," wrote Umerov.

He also said that on May 12, the occupiers plan to indict Leniie Umerova.

"The current situation with Leniie is as follows: tomorrow, May 12, she should be officially charged. The case is classified, a receipt was taken from the lawyer about not disclosing the details of the case," he wrote.

He appealed to everyone who cares to express words of support to his sister, which will help her to raise her fighting spirit.

"Friends, if any of you want to express words of support, you can do it under this post or in private messages, we will definitely try to pass them on to Leniie to raise her mood. Also, if you wish, you can support the "Letters to a Free Crimea" initiative. As part of this initiative, everyone can write a letter to illegally imprisoned Ukrainians who are being held on the temporarily occupied peninsula or on the territory of the Russian Federation," is said in the post.
