Turkey should ban the acceptance of ships arriving from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. This opinion was expressed in a comment to QIRIM.News by a military expert, head of the Center for Military and Legal Studies Oleksandr Musienko, commenting on the arrival in Turkey of a ship with stolen Ukrainian grain. To do this, you need to keep track of the history, the chain, where the ship, and the goods received.
"This can be a very effective way: just to prohibit those ships that go to Ukrainian ports and receive grain, to enter directly into Turkish ports", said Musienko.
Also, in his opinion, the Turkish side should conduct appropriate investigations into the entry of such vessels into Turkish ports and open relevant criminal cases. The expert reminded that Ukraine has closed seaports, and there are relevant official decisions. Strict sanctions have also been imposed on Russia, as well as on Crimean ports and ships calling there.
"In this way, I do not want Turkey to be complicit in such a horrible crime. Therefore, I think it is worth intensifying our diplomatic efforts and work. In particular, with the help of our international partners, in order to influence this position of Turkey", Musienko said.
I advised the Turkish side to refrain from steps that play into the hands of the occupiers. Given the good, according to him, relations between Ukraine and Turkey.
"Given the Ukrainian-Turkish relations, which are quite good in many respects, in economic cooperation, military-technical, and political support from Turkey. Therefore, I think it would be advisable for the Turkish side to refrain from such steps and not actually take actions that, let’s say, play into the hands of the occupying "power" or temporary occupation on the southern borders of our state, where grain is exported by Russian invaders. And the grain was obtained illegally", the expert stressed.
