Atlantic Alliance suggests that Ukraine will be able to regain Donbas and
Crimea, if it continues the current struggle. This was stated by CNN's
military representative, who owns intelligence, according to “Yevropeyska
Pravda” ("European Truth").
According to the official, the current discussion in NATO is that the impulse has shifted significantly in favor of Ukraine. NATO circles are now debating whether Kyiv can return Crimea and the Donbass territories seized by Russia in 2014.
"I think they could [return Crimea and Donbas], yes. Not now, not soon, but if they can continue the struggle, I think will return", said the official.
At the same time, he expressed
doubts whether Ukraine should really fight for the return of its territory,
given the possible negative reaction of the local population from some of these
He also noted that NATO does not expect much success on the battlefield for both Ukraine and Russia in the coming weeks.
"I don't think the situation will change for a while," the official said.
