NATO-Ukraine tabletop exercise “Coherent Resilience” has started in Odesa, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) reported on Monday.

"Experts of the Staff of the NSDC of Ukraine are participating in the joint NATO-Ukraine Tabletop Exercise “Coherent Resilience” on countering hybrid threats to critical infrastructure in the Black Sea region, which will be running in Odesa this week," NSDC of Ukraine announced on Twitter.

According to the report, the aim of the exercise is the development of the stable system of the state bodies of Ukraine in the sphere of counteraction of the hybrid threats and crisis response by strengthening interagency and civil-military cooperation, planning and ensuring preparedness.

The exercises will involve bodies of the security and defence sector of Ukraine, institutions that coordinate crisis management, as well as operators of energy and other critical infrastructure.

Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine cooperated with the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence to conduct the exercise, with the support of the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School within the framework of the NATO-Ukraine Platform on Countering Hybrid Warfare.

As reported, the "Coherent Resilience" exercise is part of the decision approved by NATO foreign ministers in Washington in April 2019 to support Ukraine in tackling hybrid challenges in the Black Sea region.
