Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko said in an interview with NV that it is difficult to return Crimea occupied by Russia by military means due to geographical features.

"It will most likely be a matter of negotiations and further sanctions pressure. But the fact that in the near future, during our lifetime, Crimea will be returned to Ukraine – that's for sure!”, Gerashchenko assured.

He also noted that the fact that Crimea will be returned is confirmed by the dynamics of real estate sales on the southern coast of Crimea and real estate on the peninsula in general.

“Russian web-sites are full of advertisements for the sale of real estate bought or stolen in 2014 in Crimea. The Russians themselves do not believe that the peninsula will be still a part of Russia”, he explained.

According to the adviser to the Interior Minister, Ukraine's victory should be the expulsion of Russian troops during offensive operations from Donbas, north and south of Ukraine, and then the return of Crimea by maximizing sanctions.

"Let Russia pay $ 500 billion in unearned income for Crimea every year. And then anyway the peninsula will return to us due to the pressure of sanctions”, Gerashchenko assured.
