The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine believes that Russia plans to capture Kyiv, create a new state entity, and include it in the Russian Federation.
This was
announced by Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Department of the General
Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Gromov at a briefing for
journalists.
According to him, the General Staff is considering attempts to take control of the territory of Odesa, Mykolaiv, and partly Zaporizhzhia regions, and to create a land corridor to the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova.
"Capturing of the territory of central Ukraine, possession of Kyiv, staging re-elections to the legislative and executive authorities with the pro-Russian forces in power, creating a new state entity and including it in Russia. Thus, the enemy will try to achieve its strategic and political goal. But these are just his thoughts. We have our opposition against his thoughts," Gromov said.
