The NATO Parliamentary Assembly adopted the resolution Fit For Purpose In The New Strategic Era based on the results of the summit in Madrid. One of the points of the resolution calls on the member states of the Alliance to "support the work of the International Crimea Platform, including its Parliamentary Summit as a tool for consolidating inter-parliamentary efforts aimed at the de-occupation of the Crimean Peninsula".
This was reported by the press service of the Representation of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea with reference to Yehor Chernev, head of the Permanent Delegation of Ukraine to the PA NATO.
"The adoption of this resolution is an important political step that reflects the mood in Western parliamentary circles, and therefore influences the leadership of countries in decision-making. The fact that the Ukrainian position regarding the creation of a tribunal, the payment of reparations, or the recognition of Russia as a terrorist state is gradually becoming mainstream at the highest international platforms is also very pleasing", the report reads.
The representative office noted that the resolution will be sent to the governments and parliaments of all NATO member countries. At the initiative of the Ukrainian delegation, the document also enshrines the principle of supporting Ukraine as long as there is such a need.
