Russian aggression can and must be stopped only with adequate weapons. On January 26, Ukraine withstood another massive missile attack by terrorists.
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in a video message.
"This evil, this Russian aggression can and must be stopped only with adequate weapons. The terrorist state will not understand anything else. Weapons on the battlefield. A weapon that protects our sky", Zelensky said.
And also with new sanctions against Russia, i.e. political and economic weapons. But with legal weapons, we must work even more actively to create a tribunal regarding the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine and to compensate for all the losses caused by this war at the expense of Russian assets.
"Every Russian missile against our cities and every Iranian drone used by terrorists are arguments for why more weapons are needed. Only weapons neutralize terrorists", the head of state emphasized.
He thanked everyone in the world who really fights against terror together with Ukraine, who is speeding up the delivery of the necessary defense equipment to Ukraine, and who is ready to increase the sanctions pressure on the terrorist state.
"In particular, we are expanding our tank coalition. There is a corresponding decision by Canada, I am thankful for that. There are already 12 countries in our tank coalition", said Zelensky.
The President emphasized that thanks to the air defense systems provided to Ukraine and thanks to the professionalism of Ukrainian soldiers, it was possible to shoot down most of the Russian missiles and Shaheds on January 26. This is at least hundreds of saved lives and dozens of preserved infrastructure facilities.
"And I thank our Air Force, everyone who during the last night, morning, and day ensured the protection of Ukraine from missiles and terrorist drones. And I especially want to note the soldiers of the 96th Kyiv, 160th Odesa, and 208th Kherson anti-aircraft missile brigades. But, unfortunately, it is difficult to provide 100% protection only with air defense means. Especially when terrorists use ballistic missiles", Zelensky said.
He noted that there were rocket hits. Unfortunately, there are wounded, and there are dead. And this Russian terror requires asymmetric responses. A new movement of Ukrainian forces at the front is needed. It is necessary to ensure the defeat of the ground forces of terrorists.
"No matter what the Russian occupiers are planning there, our preparation must be stronger", the head of state added.
