Secretary
of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov is
confident that the new weapons provided to Ukraine by the United States will
change the positions of the parties in the war.
According
to him, the issue of foreign heavy weapons has moved everything from the
deadlock.
"If for the last 2-3 weeks we
were asking every day to 'Give us heavy weapons', today this issue has already
been resolved," he told to Radio Svoboda.
Danilov noted that the weapons will definitely change the positions of the parties. We need to understand that this will not be as fast as we would like it to be.
"A large number of our servicemen are currently being trained. This is a new weapon, you need to get used to it, you need to learn to use it. These processes are taking place now. When our military will be trained, it will use these weapons. I think it will be a great help for our country," he said.
It will be recalled that the US House of Representatives approved a bill to restore the program of the World War II times. The law will take effect after it is signed by President Joe Biden. Within 60 days after the adoption of this law, an accelerated procedure for the supply of weapons to Ukraine without any kind of bureaucratic red tape must be introduced.
