NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg commented on the possibility of the forceful return of Crimea. According to him, the best way to achieve a peaceful solution for Ukraine is to provide military support, after which Ukraine will decide what conditions are acceptable for it.

Stoltenberg said this in an interview with LRT, Ukrinform reports.

"If we want a peaceful solution for Ukraine, the best way to achieve this is to provide military support. After that, Ukraine will decide for itself what conditions are acceptable for it," said Stoltenberg, answering the question of whether statements regarding Ukraine's return to internationally recognized borders mean that the state should return Crimea by force.

The NATO Secretary-General noted that the war must end at the negotiating table, and the Ukrainians themselves must decide what the conditions for this should be.

"Our task is to support Ukraine because we know: what happens at the negotiating table is inseparable from what happens on the battlefield," Stoltenberg said.
