The Ukrainian delegation to Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) will not participate in Minsk talks Due to Russian Federation's influence on Belarus.
Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksiy Reznikov said this on the air of the Freedom of Speech program on the ICTV channel on Monday, April 5.
The Minister said that Moscow and OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) were informed on the issue.
"We have categorically stated that we will not participate in the meetings of the Trilateral Contact Group if the quarantine restrictions are lifted and if it is proposed to continue these consultations directly in Minsk, as it was before. We explained that the Ukrainian delegation would not send its delegates to Minsk for face-to-face meetings, and we would have to look for another country, another city," Reznikov said.
According to him, there is no trust in Belarus as it is currently under the influence of the Russian Federation.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the meetings of the Trilateral Contact Group and its subgroups within the Minsk negotiation process have been held via videoconference since last year.
As reported earlier, the Russian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG), which initiated to resolve the Donbas issue, did not agree to continue the ceasefire that expired on April 1.
