A Crimean 'minister' who collaborated with the occupying authorities could face up to 10 years in prison

The Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol (ARC) has submitted an indictment to the court against the Minister of Internal Policy, Information and Communications of the occupied Crimean peninsula. His actions are classified as collaboration under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
This information was reported by the press service of the department.
According to sources in law enforcement agencies cited by QIRIM.News, the defendant is Albert Kurshutov.
In April 2024, he accepted an offer from the Russian Federation and took up a position with the occupying authorities. According to a decree by Sergiy Aksyonov, the so-called head of Crimea, Kurshutov was appointed to the position of 'Minister of Internal Policy, Information and Communications', which he still holds.
The investigation found that, in his role as 'minister', Kurshutov performs organisational and administrative functions within the occupation authority and ensures the implementation of the information policy of the Russian Federation, actively spreading Russian propaganda in the media space of Crimea.
